This ride is for experienced riders that really want a good workout while getting a familiarization tour of Hua Hin.  If you have been stuffing yourself with breakfast buffets and lying around the beach and hotel pool every day you may want to get a good workout in before heading back home to your normal routine.  Locals may want to check it out too for more ideas of where to ride or just to have another rider motivate them to push the pedals a little harder once in a while.

This ride starts from our office here in Hua Hin or we can meet you at your hotel and start from there but this ride is not supported by a vehicle like our other tours.  We take you through the back streets of Hua Hin to avoid the traffic as best we can and show you all the intricate nooks and crannies of Hua Hin.  We will do some off road riding along the train tracks and through some of the neighborhoods you would normally not see.

The reason we call it the “Hell Ride” is because to get to some of the scenic views and really get a detailed visual of Hua Hin you will need to climb some short but extremely vertical mountains that will make your heart feel like it wants to jump out of your chest.  We start by heading to the “other side of the tracks” and follow them to the Hua Hin Train Station on our way to a small road that will take us up into the hills of Hua Hin.  Just as we start to climb these modest hills we will turn and take the “Extremely Vertical” road up to the top of Khao Hin Lek (Small Stone Mountain) Fire Viewpoint to check out the points of interest in Hua Hin, where we came from, where we are going, where you are staying, and just about every place else in Hua Hin.

Once we have recovered from the Khao Hin Lek climb we will head down the other side and then make our way over to Khao Takiab (Chopstick Mountain) passing through a temple with a busy Thai food market filled with locals.  Next we will see some of the newer resorts and hotels in the southern tip of Hua Hin as we head towards the fishing village that we will pass through just before making our next strenuous vertical climb to the top of Khao Takiab.  For those that really want to make the legs burn, we will climb the steps to the temple at the top of Khao Takiab.

On the way back we will zig-zag through Hua Hin and ride out onto the Hua Hin Fishing Pier before we explore the Soi Binthabaht area and all the beer bars.  Evening Ride – If you managed to climb both mountains without getting off the bike we will buy you a beer of your choice, if you climbed both mountains and climbed the steps on the top of Khao Takiab we will buy you two beers of your choice.  Morning Ride – We should have you back to your hotel in time to catch lunch with your family or friends.

We offer our local half-day bicycle tours every day of the week.

For this ride we either start from the Hua Hin Bike Tours/Tour de Asia Office or we will meet you at your hotel and start from there. We ask that you are ready to start between 7:30 and 8:00am for the Morning Hell Ride or between 2:30 and 3:00pm for the Evening Hell Ride so we can ‘fit’ you with a bike and helmet and depart by 8:00am or 3:00pm accordingly.

  • TOUR GUIDE – English speaking guide (on bike)
  • LUNCH – Traditional Thai lunch
  • WATER/SOFT DRINKS – During the ride
  • BIKES – Using modern Marin hybrid bicycles
  • HELMETS – Must be worn for your safety

Although we start early in the morning, it can get very hot and we suggest you wear sun lotion and bring extra with you. Supportive shoes are important as we usually have options for doing some treks off the bikes. An extra t-shirt is recommended for the van ride home. If you are concerned about the weather please consult us. DO NOT believe the weather forecasts.

Don’t forget to bring a camera or video camera!
